Integrative Psychology
My Preferred Approach
I believe in providing a truly integrative approach to psychological therapy. For me, there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to treating mental illness or working with neurodiverse clients. My preferred method is to incorporate elements of several evidence-based approaches to provide a holistic personalised experience. My preferred therapeutic method is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), usually in combination with one or several of the following: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills, Person-Centred Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Presenting Issues
As a qualified psychologist, I am experienced in working with anger, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), stress, substance misuse, and relationship difficulties. In addition, I have experience in treating mental health conditions in neurodiverse clients as well as supporting neurodiverse individuals to understand and accept their diagnosis.

I run my practice using the principles of trauma-informed care. Rather than focusing on ‘what is wrong with you?’ the emphasis is on ‘what happened to you?’. Many of my clients have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences which we work through in therapy.

Please note: I do not work within a multi-diciplinary team and I operate my practice alone. On this basis, I am not able to accept higher risk clients, for example, individuals who are actively self-harming and/or who experience chronic suicidal thoughts.
